Agenda #06

Just as Inner City sang «Let me take you to a place I know you wanna go” in that mythical year of 1988, we will also try to be a beacon of the culture and lifestyle that gravitate around A CASA PORTUGUESA.

Without any regularity, but whenever we have something to share, here you will have fresh recommendations of those exciting things that make life good!

THE FRATERNITY OF METAPHORS - Jean-Luc Godard

Until 04.10.2026 - La Virreina, Centre de l'Imatge

The fraternity of metaphors offers a vibrant journey through the visual thought of Jean-Luc Godard, where cinema expands beyond the screen to become essay, collage and provocation.

The exhibition articulates images, texts and film fragments with a freedom that invites us to look and think in a different way. Far from being a static homage, it functions as a living device that questions the spectator and makes him or her an accomplice. Its fragmentary montage, full of political and poetic resonances, maintains intact its capacity to discomfort and fascinate.

An unmissable event for those looking for a demanding and stimulating aesthetic experience. We give advance notice so that there are no apologies and we can repeat as many times as necessary because it is also free.

SPRING IN THE CITY 2026: Blood Orange, billy woods, Teo Planell

2nd June - Paral-lel 62, 19:45

We don't go to Primavera Sound any more because we're too old and lack the desire and money. But there is a moment not to be missed this year, on 2 June in the Primavera a la Ciutat programme with a line-up as eclectic as it is stimulating.

The sophisticated delicacy of Blood Orange, between R&B and emotional electronica, dialogues with the lyrical density and political edge of Billy Woods. Added to this is the emerging sensitivity of Teo Planell, who provides an intimate and generational counterpoint. An event that promises intensity and personality, far removed from the predictable formulas of the festivals.

The tickets are sold out, but persistence is our middle name 🙂

Murakami - The Seventh Man and Other Stories - Jean Christophe Deveney, PMGL, Misato Morita (2026)

The Seventh Man and Other Stories, a graphic adaptation of Haruki Murakami's universe, is presented as an exercise in narrative purification that avoids literalness to focus on evocation.

The work stands out for its ability to translate the author's own emotional ambiguity and everyday strangeness into the language of comics. The sober line and the restrained composition construct a leisurely rhythm, where silence acquires a fundamental expressive weight. Far from illustrating, the proposal interprets, generating a reading experience that is more atmospheric than argumental. The result is an elegant and suggestive adaptation that preserves the most intangible dimension of Murakamian imagery.

For fans and the initiated.

DTF St. Louis - Steven Conrad, HBO MAX (2026)

DTF St. Louis is one of the most stimulating proposals on the recent scene, a series that turns its apparent lightness into an exercise in narrative precision. Steve Conrad's direction displays an elegant virtuosity, articulating times and silences that are very unusual in today's audiovisuals.

The beautiful, sophisticated cinematography, with restrained tones and expressive framing, reinforces the moral ambiguity of the story. The series constantly balances black humour and emotional tension without losing coherence. The result is an uncomfortable and addictive work, as refined in its form as it is incisive in its gaze. A more restrained “Twin Peaks” for modern times. Not to be missed.

Bully - Ye (2026)

Bully is a suggestive return of Ye - “The Artist previously known as Kanye West” 🙂 A work where his unmistakable creative ambition is once again at the centre of the discourse.

The album stands out for its density and detail, building rich soundscapes that dialogue with different stages of his career. There is a clear will to experiment, but also an emotional pulse that brings cohesion to the whole. Even in its irregularities, the album maintains an artistic tension that makes it Ye's most stimulating album since The Life of Pablo, in the now distant 2016.

Ye shows once again why he is most likely the name that sets the pace of contemporary musical conversation. Let's see if his social behaviour will allow us to enjoy his live performance this summer.

We've got the tickets!
